Prayer requests Week of June 29, 2011

Debbie Blanket Ministry:
Blanket–noun 1. a large, rectangular piece of soft fabric, often with bound edges, used especially for warmth as a bed covering. Comforter.

I thought it interesting that another term we use for a blanket is a comforter. I have a comforter on my bed. I wrap myself up in it for warmth, sometimes to hide way from things, or to cover my bed to make it beautiful. Father God, Debbie desires to comfort those in hopeless situations, those who need a covering of security. When we receive Jesus into our lives, the Father sends His Holy Spirit, also known as “The Comforter” to live within us. The picture I have in my head suddenly is that of Linus and his blanket. He carried it with him wherever he went. In the Charlie Brown cartoons he uses it for so many purposes, it is always with him. Lord, be a comfort to Debbie as she seeks to comfort those at the city of hope. Lord God, Make this blanket ministry a tribute to Dan and a healing to Debbie’s heart.
Proverbs 31:22
She makes coverings for her bed; she is clothed in fine linen and purple.

Margie:
Heavenly Father, our dear sister Margie has a need for more work hours. We know that you are the Lord who provides and we know that you WILL provide for Margie. She is a faithful servant who has opened her home and her life to many. She has suffered much but continues to remain faithful to You. Your word says seek and ye shall find, knock and the door shall be open. Ask and it shall be given. So we come to you and ask for more work hours for Margie and we wait expectantly for your provision.
2 Kings 20:3
“Remember, LORD, how I have walked before you faithfully and with wholehearted devotion and have done what is good in your eyes.”
Luke 11:9
“So I say to you: Ask and it will be given to you; seek and you will find; knock and the door will be opened to you.

Ashley:
Almighty God, protector and healer, we lift up to you our sister Ashley. She is full of emotion and open for your word to speak to her heart. Resigning from her job takes courage and strength please give her the joy that comes from your strength, knowing that you are opening up a new chapter in her life.
Her joy is to help your children and work with families to help provide solutions for a better life. May she be bold always to teach about the love You have for your people.
We come to you and ask for specific provision of a job that is fulfilling that pays well and gives Ashley the benefit package she needs. Thank you for allowing her to take a break for a while and be with her mom and brother at this time of great loss for all of them. Bless them Father as they worship you in their pain.
Nehemiah 8:10
…This day is holy to our Lord. Do not grieve, for the joy of the LORD is your strength.”

Danny:
I found this policeman’s prayer and thought we could all pray it daily for Danny:
Almighty God, whose great power and wisdom embraces
the universe,
Watch over Danny and all policeman everywhere.
Protect Danny from harm in the performance
of his duty to stop crime,
robbery and violence.
We pray, you would help Danny to keep our streets and
homes safe, day and night.
We recommend Danny to your loving care because his duty is dangerous.
Give Danny strength and courage.
Protect Danny.
Grant Danny your almighty protection.
Unite Danny safely with his family
after his daily or nightly duty has ended. Amen
Zechariah 10:5
Together they will be like warriors in battle trampling their enemy into the mud of the streets. They will fight because the LORD is with them, and they will put the enemy horsemen to shame.
Psalm 32:7
You are my hiding place; you will protect me from trouble and surround me with songs of deliverance.

Brian - emotional strength for Brian and Tina for Wrena's turn-in day July 16th

Heavenly Father, You have taken us in, each one of us to teach us how to love, how to be obedient and how to serve You as we serve others. Wrena was taken in by Brian and Tina to teach her how to love, how to be obedient and how to serve You as she serves others. Tina and Brian have spent countless hours teaching and loving Wrena. Please give them strength as they turn Wrena in for the purposes of blessing a blind person’s life. Brian, Tina, and Wrena are all giving life to a person they don’t even know. Please be present with Tina, Brian and Wrena as they part company and remind them of the blessing they are being to one of Your children.

Father God, be with Caroline as she seeks your healing for Doug’s ear. Her love for Doug is great, yet her love for You is greater. You have brought Doug and Caroline together for such a time as this. To serve each other in love and to be a devoted support in times of sickness and in health. As You know Lord, the issues of Doug’s son and the agonizing waiting of charges being determined weigh heavy on the minds of Doug, Caroline and all of us. You, Father God, know exactly what happened. You Father God know exactly how this will play out. We trust that You will protect Doug’s family and heal the broken hearts of all involved. God Your will always comes with a lesson. We pray that You are teaching everyone involved in this situation and that You would open their eyes to see what it is to live with You, God, in any situation. We pray that you would again, be comforter to Doug and Caroline and that You would continue to be the great and only Judge. Please God we ask for Your favor in this situation. Bring Your peace. The only peace that comes directly from God!
Philippians 4:7
And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.

Jennifer:
Father God, we lift up our dear sister Jennifer, Your daughter and princes of the Most High Almighty God. We seek Your guidance and will for her life. Each of us has burdens to carry, please Lord God, let this issue of marriage and being alone NOT be a burden to Jennifer. You created her in her mother’s womb. You know each and every hair on her head. You know the desires of her heart for You created them in her. You are God alone before there was time, You are on Your throne orchestrating plans for EACH one of Your children especially those who call you Abba. Jennifer has dedicated her life to serving YOU and to teaching children and families how to serve and worship You. You have blessed her with a wonderful job where she can use her creative gifts the ones You gave her. Bless her now by preparing her husband for her. Let this time of waiting be no more. You have seen her dedication to you. Show her Your devotion to her, reminder her that You are in control, You know her by heart, You are Jehovah provider and that you are painstakingly putting the pieces together for a perfect relationship for her. Thank you Lord God, that You see her faithfulness to you. We ask in the mighty name of Christ Jesus that you move swiftly and lovingly according to Your will.
Genesis 18:14
Is anything too hard for the LORD? I will return to you at the appointed time next year, and Sarah will have a son.”
Psalm 37:4
Take delight in the LORD, and he will give you the desires of your heart.

Nancy:
Lord God of compassion, Nancy Your daughter calls on you on behalf of her family. How many times has Nancy called on You and Your protection, favor, blessing and strength for other people. She is the epitome of compassion for others. You have given her a gift of not only listening to people when they talk to her, but of really hearing what people say. You have given her a memory and a gift of remembering people’s suffering and a burden to care for those close to her or not close to her. She is asking for Your presence and Your healing care for Karen’s (her sister's) father-in-law, suffering from a tractor fall and Karen’s sister-in-law who was in a major auto accident which broke her back and neck. We praise you for the healing You have already done and that You are doing and we implore you to heal completely in body, mind and soul those in Nancy’s family. We ask for your strength and healing for the children, witnessing this horrific accident of their mother. Please be with them in their dark hours and the hours to come. Shine your light on this situation and use this time to bring all of these family members into relationship with you. Thank you again for Nancy’s true heartfelt caring.
Luke 14:10
But when you are invited, take the lowest place, so that when your host comes, he will say to you, ‘Friend, move up to a better place.’ Then you will be honored in the presence of all the other guests.

Tina – We PRAISE you and THANK you and WORSHIP you Lord for a new game plan to make Hunter well!!! Thank You heavenly Father for helping Chris and Rima to feel really encouraged by this doctor's assessment and the new plan of attack. We continue to thank you and ask for your covering over Hunter, his parents Chris and Rima and we again PRAISE You mighty God for Your goodness. We pray that You will continue to guard, bless and take control in this situation.
Deuteronomy 4:7

Joey and Anneke:
Father God we re-commit our lives to You on a daily basis. We thank you for continuing to provide means for our family’s survival. You have given us much and you expect much from us in return. We pray that we will continually, as a family, look toward You for our source of strength and provision. We ask specifically for relief for Joey’s pain, that You would provide healing and that Joey would walk comfortably again. You are mighty and You can do all things. We trust that You will protect Joey and heal him according to Your will. We ask for financial assistance, for work for Anneke, and/or work for Joey. We ask for patience as we wait for you to finish putting Your plan for us together. Thank you for placing Joey B close to us for this next year. Please be a comfort to him as he struggles to move through these next 6 weeks. Thank you for a wonderful weekend he got to spend with Ricki and help to keep them both trusting in you.

White House Life Group Prayers and Praises

Debbie had a praise report. The Discovery Men’s Group took donations for a floral arrangement in memory of Dan. They gathered enough to pay for the arrangement as well as an additional $327.00 to be donated to the City of Hope. Brian presented Debbie with the check made out to, The City of Hope.

Please keep Debbie, Danny and Ashley in your prayers as they face challenges daily in learning to adjust to the remainder of their temporary life here on earth.
Isaiah 58:11
The LORD will guide you always; he will satisfy your needs in a sun-scorched land and will strengthen your frame. You will be like a well-watered garden, like a spring whose waters never fail.

Prayer is requested for Tina’s brother and sister-in-law, in Northern California and their 4-year-old son Hunter. They will be driving down on Monday to see a Doctor who has helped Jenny McCarthy’s son, who also has autism. Father we ask that the trip be blessed and bring fruitful results. Thank you for providing these new ways for Hunter. We ask that you would give them a smooth trip, knowing the challenges of a long car drive with an autistic child may be difficult, but we thank you in advance for the peace you will bring to them and the love and bonding they will experience on this trip. Please make clear the paths that they are to take and the paths that they are not to take. We pray that you would give them clear confirmation that they are on the right track. If not, we ask that you would renew their patience and hope, especially in you and your provisions for them.
Proverbs 3:5
Trust in the LORD with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding;

Anneke and Joey request provision from the Lord God Jehovah Jireh for Anneke to be patient and discerning Your will when it comes to a job, knowing that You are the God who provides. Keep Joey in your prayers for healing of body, mind and spirit.
Genesis 22:14
So Abraham called that place The LORD Will Provide. And to this day it is said, “On the mountain of the LORD it will be provided.”
John 6:2
and a great crowd of people followed him because they saw the signs he had performed by healing the sick.

Nancy asked that we keep her and her team at work in prayer as they face numerous employees that will no longer be with the team. Pray that a spirit of unity and not division will work it’s way through the team. That they would focus on helping each other to work hard and get their jobs done and to not succumb to the gossip that may be amongst them. We pray especially for Nancy as the stress of these work situations combined with physical pain from her knee can at times be unbearable. We pray that the shots she is receiving in her knee would be healing and productive. Father God Nancy is concerned about her health and we ask that you would continue to help her on her path to wellness.
Job 2:11
When Job’s three friends, Eliphaz the Temanite, Bildad the Shuhite and Zophar the Naamathite, heard about all the troubles that had come upon him, they set out from their homes and met together by agreement to go and sympathize with him and comfort him.

Brian asked that we pray for him to learn to balance the challenges of a tremendous workload and a beautiful life with Tina and his friends and church. God we know how easy it is for someone so dedicated to all areas of their lives to prioritize all the daily and weekly responsibilities. Brian is dedicated to everything he touches, so we know it isn’t easy to find the time to fit everything in and give each responsibility the precision and detail he desires to give. We pray that Brian will stop, pray, listen and refocus his eyes on YOU Lord, after which all other things will fall into place. Help him to discern Your priorities Lord, over the world’s priorities. You created Brian, You know how committed to his responsibilities he is, help him to balance that dedication with You at the head of his days always. We thank you in advance that You keep Brian as the apple of Your eye and we pray that Brian would keep YOU Lord as the apple of his eye.
Psalm 17:8
Keep me as the apple of your eye; hide me in the shadow of your wings
Exodus 15:2
“The LORD is my strength and my defense; he has become my salvation. He is my God, and I will praise him, my father’s God, and I will exalt him.

We ask Lord that you bring healing to Doug’s ears. That he would seek the medical advice that he needs and that You Lord God would provide answers to what is happening to him. Thank you for his beautiful wife Caroline who is there to provide love and care to him.
As we prayed for Brian, we pray also for Caroline to balance the challenges in her life with Doug as a wife, with her children as a mother and with her job as a dedicated employee. We pray for a renewed sense of energy in body, mind and spirit. If there is any medical reason for her lack of energy, we pray that you would bring that to light as quickly as possible so that it may be addressed. We know that as a newly wed couple, Doug and Caroline have been under tremendous amounts of stress in the past month or so. Please continue to bless them as they honor you and rely on you for their strength. Let all the struggles prove to only bring them closer to You Lord God and closer to each other. Unite them as one, to lean on each other, protect and care for each other using the gifts that you have given each one of them. Turn their eyes upon you Jesus.
Deuteronomy 4:37
Because he loved your ancestors and chose their descendants after them, he brought you out of Egypt by his Presence and his great strength
Colossians 1:29
To this end I strenuously contend with all the energy Christ so powerfully works in me.

George and Dana e-mailed to ask for traveling mercies. Bless their family and home to be in order as they have left it.
Genesis 28:15
I am with you and will watch over you wherever you go, and I will bring you back to this land. I will not leave you until I have done what I have promised you.”

Father God we lift up to You, the cries of our hearts. Bless our life group to be vessels for You, to do Your work here on earth for the time you have given us. Help to keep us all focused on You and Your Son Christ Jesus. Thank you for listening to our prayers and hearing us. We praise you and honor you and thank you, in the name of your precious Son, Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.
Deuteronomy 4:7
What other nation is so great as to have their gods near them the way the LORD our God is near us whenever we pray to him?
Welcome to the White House Life Group Prayer Blog! I will post our prayer requests here for those of you who would like to view them here. I will send an e-mail as well. For the time being, we can try this. This is kind of nice in the fact that it keeps a sort of "journal" of our prayers and praises. You can go back here anytime you want (even for years afterward) to see the prayers. You don't have to worry about them getting lost in your in-box!
I hope you will enjoy this!
Love,
Anneke
